China's Unitree Unveils H2-X Humanoid With Eight-Hour Battery Life

Unitree Technology, the Hangzhou-based humanoid robot maker, on October 21 released an advertisement video for its new H2-X humanoid robot, staging a fictional good-versus-evil scenario to push the machine through extreme tests. The robot dents a car’s fender, lifts a bumper and rescues a child-sized model, all while the company advertises up to eight hours of battery life.

The video is a departure for a brand better known for viral clips of robots dancing and sprinting at high speed. Unitree has become one of China’s most visible humanoid robot companies, and its push into longer endurance and high-intensity dynamic performance speaks to the practical limits that still hold back real-world deployment, where battery life and reliability matter as much as agility.

The advertisement also lands during a hot stretch for the company’s shares. Unitree’s stock has climbed nearly 30 percent over three recent trading sessions, lifting its market value back above 200 billion yuan, though the company noted its rolling price-to-earnings ratio is far above the average for general equipment manufacturing.

Theatrical marketing aside, the H2-X spot signals that Chinese robot makers are now competing on stamina and durability, the unglamorous specs that decide whether humanoids ever leave the demo reel.
